MUN Coordinator Alison DieringerContact AlisonWelcome to the IAS! I'm Alison Dieringer, a senior from the small town of Parkesburg in southeastern Pennsylvania, double majoring in International Affairs and Economics with concentrations in Asia and International Economics. I am extremely excited to be your Model UN Coordinator for this year and have been actively participating in Model UN for more than seven years and the IAS for the past three. I had an absolutely wonderful study abroad semester in Kunming, China last fall, but there is no place quite like the District of Colombia. My other activities here include Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Sorority, GW Club Field Hockey, the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), and the IAS's other programming, especially GWCIA and WAMUNC. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions and/or wish to be involved. We have a great year of conferences planned, taking us to the West Coast, up and down the East Coast, Mid-West, as well as Canada and beyond!
I am excited to be your MUN coordinator and will be looking for the most fun conferences around the world for us to attend. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

About Model UNModel United Nations simulations are designed to teach participants about all the dynamics of international affairs, diplomacy and international organizations that can not be learned by simply reading a book or through traditional academic study. To this day over 200,000 high school and college/university students participate in a Model UN each year. MUN conferences include all the aspects of debate, learning and interaction with a diverse group of people you'd expect, yet it is so much more. The experience is often said to help participants learn more about themselves and the rest of their world. This program is not only a learning experience; MUN conferences offer a great opportunity to travel, meet new people and to grow closer to your peers. Simply put, joining our Model UN team is the most fun you'll have in all your years at GW. The Model UN delegation is an exciting experience where you'll go to great cities, you'll debate, meet great people and have incredible memories to take back home. In addition to our Model UN team, GWIAS hosts two conferences each year: WAMUNC, for high school students, and GWCIA for middle school students. GWU Model UN Team2009-2010 AwardsCongratulations to all GWU Model UN team members for continuing the tradition of outstanding performance at conferences throughout the years.
