Welcome to the Official Website of the Eleventh Annual Washington Area Model United Nations Conference. In years past, WAMUNC has been recognized as one of the nation's most innovative Model United Nations conferences for high school and secondary school students. On behalf of the International Affairs Society of The George Washington University, the Secretariat would like to invite you to attend WAMUNC XI.

Each WAMUNC delegate will have the change to play the part of a diplomat, challenging them to hone their debate and analytical skills throughout the four day conference. Our passionate staff looks forward to helping students improve their proficiency in negotiation and conflict resolution. Every student who participates in WAMUNC XI will have the chance to exhibit their ability to lead a team towards consensus.

Our tenth annual conference will, as in previous years, be comprised of an exciting and innovative mix of traditional UN bodies, historical committees, and specialized crisis simulations. In addition, WAMUNC XI offers a Non-Governmental Organization Program which will allow certain delegates to function as special advisors to several committees over the course of the conference. We will also offer spots on a limited number of novice committees, to further the skills of less experienced delegates. The Secretariat of WAMUNC XI will strive to bring the valuable resources of Washington, DC to the delegates through embassy visits and guest speakers relevant to each committee's topics of debate.

The entire Secretariat and staff of WAMUNC XI invites you join us on campus at The George Washington University March 26-29, 2009, to take part in this unique conference (additional details and deadlines will be available soon). Our website should answer all of your questions; however, if you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Secretary General Catherine Wrisley.
