The Washington Area Model United Nations Conference (WAMUNC), a four-day long exercise in diplomacy, international affairs, and global knowledge, is one of the premiere Model United Nations conferences in the United States. WAMUNC’s strength lies not only in the high caliber of debate that our staff of volunteer students from the George Washington University create, but in utilizing its unique position as a gateway to the city of Washington D.C. Over the course of the four days, the goal of WAMUNC is to provide an educational experience through stimulating thoughts and ideas through simulation. Further, WAMUNC’s location in the nation’s capital allows delegates to experience briefings, lectures, and speeches from leading professionals in related fields. Whether delegates are MUN veterans or completely new to the MUN scene, they will all find that this conference will challenge their skills in diplomacy and negotiation, as well as their knowledge of the subject, while enriching their understanding of the world that we live in. All these experiences culminate to make WAMUNC stand apart from other Model UN conferences available to secondary school students. To learn more about WAMUNC, you can visit its website here.
