The International Affairs Society and its members firmly believe public outreach to be a critical part of ensuring the continued prosperity and growth of our international community. As such, the IAS regularly takes part in both local and international outreach programs. Locally, the IAS runs the George Washington University’s Program for International Education (GWUPIE) that supports education in international affairs in D.C. primary schools. At the international level, the IAS annually selects a philanthropic organization typically focused in international development and holds regular fundraising events with all proceeds going to the partner organization. Supported causes include vocational training and support of Peruvian orphans and provision of clean drinking water in developing countries.
