As an organization the International Affairs Society seeks to promote a better understanding about the international community and its inhabitants. Helping others through outreach is a primary goal of the IAS, especially through working for human rights around the world. As students at the George Washington University, we have the ability to have an impact on the lives of people on both a national and international level. Something that many people in the world suffer from is a lack of clean water. In some areas the water has become so polluted or contaminated it is highly dangerous. The United Nations has declared access to clean water a basic human right and something that all people should have. We hope through this year the IAS can raise both money and awareness about the issue of universal access to clean water.
