Welcome to the Official Website of the Twelfth Annual Washington Area Model United Nations Conference (WAMUNC).  Each year, WAMUNC welcomes over 900 delegates and faculty to an innovative four day Model United Nations Conference for high school and secondary school students held on the campus of The George Washington University in the heart of Washington, D.C.

WAMUNC prides itself on engaging every delegate to take on the role of diplomat- striving to research, analyze, and debate diverse issues in international affairs over the course of the four day-long Conference.  Delegates are aided by an excited and knowledgeable staff that is dedicated to studying, and working in the field of international affairs.  Assisted by our staff, delegates are encouraged to negotiate to find a common ground and lead a team to effective solutions in the finest spirit of diplomacy.

Our twelfth annual WAMUNC conference is proud to offer a diverse and exciting mix of traditional UN bodies, regional, and historical committees, in addition to specialized crisis simulations. WAMUNC XII is excited to offer an expanded Non-Governmental Organization Program which will allow certain delegates to function as special advisors to several bodies over the course of the conference. We are also pleased to welcome a refined novice committee program, offering less experienced delegates the opportunity to hone their skills in a select number of committees designed specifically for their needs. Adding to the engaging debate offered at WAMUNC XII, the Secretariat is proud to offer delegates a chance to explore international affairs first hand in the District of Columbia, and through educational committee sessions hosted by international affairs students and professionals who offer firsthand knowledge and experience to delegates about the real world issues they face every day in international affairs.
